The Magic Fringe

14 October 2009

We’ve all got a bit of an obsession with Dannii Minogue’s fringe. Every X Factor episode brings with it a new way to wear her fringe- we’re calling it the ‘magic fringe’. Sometimes it’s there in full force and other times it’s done a disappearing act. And it’s not just Dannii – VB also has a ‘magic fringe’ (who knew a fringe could be so versatile?) and at the shows, it was the latest look backstage with Irena and, the new one to watch, Ranya, both working the trend. ‘The secret of this fringe is that there is a  slight concave cut into it, maintaining extra weight to the sides, so don’t leave the line of the fringe too blunt, but gently chip into the edge of the fringe to maintain a soft edge,’ Adam Reed, creative director of Percy & Reed told Grazia. Neil Moodie from Bumble and bumble agrees: ‘It’s the length that allows it to be more versatile, it’s not a blunt cut, there’s no hard line as the ends are point cut and sit just below the eyebrows’. So if a '60s heavy fringe is a bit daunting, the ‘magic fringe’ seems to be a good option!
