Guest blogger: backstage beauty at Chloe and McQueen!

07 October 2009

We’re trailing MAC make-up artist-turned-GraziaDaily-blogger around the shows for the inside scoop on what happens backstage. Here's the latest from Paris…

I've had a jam packed day today. Started my first show at Chloe which was really beautiful! Diane Kendall created the makeup and simply enhanced the girls beauty with a touch here and there. It was a great casting so they hardly needed anything. After last season which was a full on 70's makeup Chloe went back to their roots with a barely there beauty look! We used a little Cream Colour Base in Vintage Rose on the cheeks and lips and Brownette Plushlash Mascara on the upper lashes. It was a crazy rush at the end as non of the girls came until really late (thank God it was a 2 minute look!).

Alexander McQueen

Sadly I didn't get to see the show as I had to make a dash for Alexander McQueen and I was already running late for the call time. This is probably the most incredible show of the season! A-mazing clothes, big hair and big makeup which saw its very own team of special effects makeup artists creating the aliens for the show! It was completely otherworldly and looked fantastic on the runway! Pigments in Frozen, Pink Opal and Fairylight added shimmer and highlights to the girls faces. After the show it was kaos trying to help the team remove the prosthetic pieces from the aliens faces but we got there in the end! I'm so tired now I could fall asleep standing up and I still have four more shows left in Paris. I've a 4:30am start tomorrow so it's off to bed I go for some much needed zzzzzzzzzzs!
