Grazia's been hearing whispers of an impending Jimmy Choo fragrance for some time now. And with news today that uber-glam 'It' Brit Tamara Mellon has at last signed on the dotted line to launch a fragrance sometime early next year, it seems our perfume prayers have been answered. Usually the domain of big fashion power houses as a brand extension to their ready-to-wear collections, Ms Mellon has skipped the obligatory fashion line altogether and dived straight into the lucritive world of beauty for her next big step. And what a clever move. Seeing as scent has always been the last accessory a woman puts on before she leaves the house, it seems fitting that the woman who practically invented the 'It' shoe is dabbling in perfume too. 'It's always been my vision to fully accesorise the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe. I look forward to bringing this important aspect of my vision to life,' says Mellon. The big question is, what will a Jimmy Choo perfume smell like? We're hoping something sexy, chic and a little big daring – the perfume equivalent of a crystal-encrusted stiletto. Whatever next? Jimmy Choo make-up, perhaps? Now that would be worth waiting for.
