MAC make-up artist Neil Young has been blogging backstage for Graziadaily, giving us the inside scoop on all the beauty goings-on. Find out what went on behind-the-scenes at Costume National...

Costume National

After getting in at 4am – ouch! I got up several hours later and headed to Costume National. Our very own director of make-up artistry Lyne Desnoyers designed the make-up for the show, which was really about bringing out the girls' individual sensuality. The palette was a blend of mauves and taupes. Taupe Blusher sculpted the cheek bones and added definition to the natural contours of the eye area. Cream Colour Base in Cool added a sheen to the lid and Brown Pro lash Mascara defined the upper lash line, but only at the roots! Everything about the show spelt simplicity and that was reflected through the make-up, clothes and hair. It was a little crazy backstage at one point as there were some high-profile girls – that always presents a problem because they come in last minute from other shows! As always, their make-up was done on hands and knees, but all the girls were ready in record time and the show looked beautiful. Feeling so exhausted, I headed back to my hotel for an afternoon nap and it has never looked so appealing...
