MAC make-up artist – and guest blogger for Grazia Daily over Fashion Weeks – Neil Young is back with another look at what happens backstage at Paris Fashion Week.
What a long day! Started at 7am and finished at 9pm. My first show of the day was Bernhard Willhem and let's say the show had a very organic approach.... The clothes were fun and colourful- the makeup was clean and soft. Max Delorme created the makeup using a new product from MAC's spring collection and also one of my favourite products Blush Ombre. The blushers are reminiscent of eighties cocktails and look stunning on the cheeks and eyes! Smutt eyeshadow gave a little contour and drama to the bridge of the nose whilst the hair was adorned with fruits and vegetables!
After the show I had an hour to grab a quick bite with my friends before heading to my next show Véronique Leroy. The clothes were beautiful and had a slight lean towards Africa so the makeup was kept really simple and gorgeous. Alex Box subtly enhanced all of the girls features using neutral warm tones so that it was more about the girls natural beauty than makeup! Chilli lipstick was used on the lips to pop the natural colour whilst Kid eyeshadow defined the eye. Brownette Plushlash Mascara added a little definition to the lashes. It looked so stunning on the catwalk! In line up some of the models were in good spirits even though the show was over an hour late and gave us all a full on Michael Jackson- Thriller song and dance!
I'm starting to feel the exhaustion now after three solid weeks of shows so its a very early night for me but that's not without a nightcap!
