Guest blogger: the inside beauty scoop from backstage at LFW

22 September 2009

MAC make-up artist Neil Young has been blogging for Graziadaily, giving us the inside scoop on all the goings-on backstage. Find out what he got up to yesterday at Meadham Kirchhoff and Pringle of Scotland...

My alarm went off at 4am this morning and, after prizing myself off my bed and ironing the creases out of my face, I headed to Meadham Kirchhoff. Florrie White created an ethereal angelic make-up using a selection of corals and peaches from the spring collection at MAC. It was crazy backstage as space was very tight, but Anna Wintour managed to make an appearance to personally view the collection. The clothes were beautiful and the show looked amazing.

Straight after the show, I headed to the MAC media lounge at Somerset House for a few TV interviews. I was praying they wouldn't take long so that I could whizz back home for some much-needed sleep before going to my final show of the day, Pringle of Scotland. Charlotte Tilbury's make-up was sporty and healthy with a touch of silver. It was manic backstage as many girls came late from other shows. The very gorgeous french model Constance came in very late, so I dashed to get her make-up done. While on route, I forgot I was holding a pot of silver powder and proceeded to tip the whole tub all over myself – nice! But as a true proffesional, I carried on regardless. The show looked incredible but all I can think of right now is my bed! It's my final day of London tomorrow and guess what… it's another 5am start.
