Look who popped in to Grazia HQ yesterday afternoon! None other than British soul diva Beverley Knight. She wanted to tell us all about her new range of make-up, K, launching in Selfridges on 17 September. After 15 years in the music business and countless make-up trials and tribulations, Beverley thought it was time to get things straight. ‘My make-up has come out of necessity to be honest, as there is a real need for good base products for women with black, dark and Asian skin and there’s a huge lack of knowledge about skin tone and complexion,' she told us. 'Unfortunately there’s a lack of choice, with only two companies catering for this market and there’s a huge demand so I’m really proud that I’ve been able to create this range.' There are currently 10 shades of foundation and a powder range, as Beverly found base make-up was the hardest to find and create. Beverley explained that she spent a long time testing it out on her friends, family and on stage. ‘My backing singers would tell me if they thought the foundation wasn’t working after a set. I can rely on them to be brutally honest with me. Trust me, I had some disastrous foundation moments whilst testing!’ The range also consists of lip glosses, blushers and eye shadows (to name just a few). Beverley will be at her counter in Selfridges London on the 17 September to celebrate the launch and there will also be consultants on hand to offer advice. 

The range will also be available in Selfridges stores nationwide, and will roll out to John Lewis stores later in the year.
