We were one of the first to congratulate Nicola Roberts on her make-up range, Dainty Doll, which is targeted at girls who have skin as pale as her own. In fact, we love the range. We also love the fact that she's accepted the way she is and won't conform by slathering on fake tan all year round (something she admits she would spend hours doing previously). So we totally salute the alabaster skin she showed off this weekend. But a word of beauty advice to Nicola and all others weaning themselves off the fake tan this summer: don't overcompensate with fussy, too-done details. Take for example Nicola's 1940s-style roll and set ‘do' (we much preferred her normal thick, healthy, strawberry blonde bob) and dark lips, that were just the wrong side of red. They aged her by a good couple of years – the singer's 23 not 28 – and detracted from her amazing skin. So please, Nicola, stick to what you know and steer clear of this look in the future. After all, we applaud your usual beauty efforts so we're trying to help, that's all!
