Which Cannes beauty camp are you in?

Forget the battle for the Palme d'Or, there seem to be two beauty camps forming at the Cannes film festival this year: the old Hollywood glam set and the all American bronzed clan. Heading up the first is Eva Herzigova with her repertoire of 1940s Hollywood movie star styles. We're loving her dark lip and rolled set hair which works just as well with her off-duty silk kimono yacht look as her red carpet couture gown get-up. And Peaches Geldof has also upped her beauty style stakes, pulling off two high drama looks in just one night alone! On the other side of the beauty spectrum though are Hayden Panettiere and Diane Kruger, who carry off the care-free, California golden girl glow in style. Their Cannes beauty policy? Bronzer, highlighter and lashings of mascara. So which camp are you with? We're still undecided...

Hayden Panettiere Diane Kruger

  • I'm afraid the Americans are doing it better! Effortless and elegant, the old school glam is over styled to within an inch of its life. Cookie cutter 40's sameness, its SO *yawn*!

  • Peaches' look is a bit too styled and contrived. Like she's trying too hard to get papped. Hayden and Diane in contrasting black and white look chic and laid-back, totally effortless and sophisticated. Love the minimal accessories and natural make-up. Really channelling French chic style.

  • Agreed- the natural look is so much better.
Don't get me wrong, glamour has its place too, but when its more drag-queen then chic it doesn't look attractive anymore. And then when placed side-by-side with the effortlessness of the natural look, it looks too vain. And then it just looks ugly.

  • I love the natural, healthy look of the American ladies ... I am all for glamour too but am sick of seeing Peaches in the celeb-mags.

  • More retro? Please no. Give us something new. The California girls look nice (ie. a bit boring).

  • Unfortunately the Cali girls look ounces more beautiful, maybe its all that sun? I am so over the Hollywood movie star look, Christina Aguilera has ruined the look for everyone!

  • I love a golden glow, but the Tango (orange) look is soooooo unattractive - less is more, and a little healthy glow is better than dark orange (especially as, for we Europeans, it is the month of May and a little early for that golden tan).

  • Peaches is absolutely rotten and I just can't fathom her appeal at all. Is it her glowing skin? Her winning smile? Her innate style? Her oodles of charisma? Well it's none of these, so what is it? She must be chums with all the right people, cos I can't see any other reason for this girl to be photographed, much less held up as some sort of representative for Stylish Britain.

  • Aaahhh, Peaches again!

  • If you can't do glam' at Cannes, when can you? Hayden and Diane look beautiful, young, healthy, glowing its all good, and as covetable as that look is, for every starlet that gets it right, there are 50 terracotta wannabe WAGs that get it oh so wrong. Bronzed beauty is great, but the line between fab and fake is a tricky one to tread, better to just leave it to those of kinder climes. For that you can't knock Peaches for representing at the very least, the British weather, if not British style.

  • IS IT JUST ME OR NOT?
DOES Eva Herzigova LOOKS LIKE Natasha Bedingfield?
    A LITTLE BIT?
BUT STILL THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL WHO AM I TO JUDGE.
