HOW TO do the Ungaro two-tone lip

14 April 2009

It was one of THE standout beauty looks of the A/W ‘09 shows but ever since we've been wondering whether you can really pull off the Ungaro two-tone lips that comes in half fuchsia and half hot orange in real life? So we checked in with Keira Knightley and Thandie Newton's make-up artist, Kay Montano, to show us how it's done so we can get ahead of the game for next season...

Step one: Prep the lips by exfoliating off any dry bits and leaving a small amount of balm to sink in for a few minutes.

Step two: This look is ALL about the colour choice – you want something dense, not sheer – the bolder the better! We pick MAC's Lady Danger and Full Fuchsia (both £11.26; www.maccosmetics.co.uk)

Step 3: Take the first of two lip brushes and load it up with the fuchsia colour – this is no time to scrimp! Work from the outer edges inwards until your upper lip is covered in dense colour.

Step 4: Take your second brush and do the same with the orange shade on your lower lip.

Step 5: Two-tone lips, sorted! Just remember – never EVER rub your lips together with this look!
