It was one of our favourite big-bouff hair looks from the shows, so we knew we had to find out just how to get that super-high beehive from the Marc Jacobs show in New York. As we were catching up with Mischa Barton during her stay in London last week, we spied hair maestro Ben Cooke in the adjoining room as he prepared to do Mischa's hair for the evening. So in we popped to nab Ben for a five-minute lesson in the art of the up-do.
1. Backcomb, backcomb, backcomb! Take the middle section of the hair at the back and top of the head and backcomb with a wide toothed comb and add liberal amounts of holding hairspray.
2. Bring the bouffed-up top and back sections to meet, (keeping a high quiff at the very front of the head) at the back of the head and twist into a chignon. Pin with as many kirby grips as you can muster.
3. Finish by adding more hairspray and using it to slick down the side to streamline. Et voilà – the big-bouff in minutes!
