The smoky eye got a make-over at Versace A/W '09 as Pat McGrath used layers of navy to build up an intense eye which extended out into a feline shape and continued above the eye socket for a heavy, seductive look. The inner corners were highlighted with a lighter azure metallic shadow to make the eyes brighter. The rest of the face was kept clean and nude and the lips were paled down to contrast the strong eye. Hair was sleeked back so that from the front it looked like an ordinary, neat, wet-look pony, but from the back, hair hung loose and voluminous with control from the nape with slightly wavy textured hair to balance out the structure of the look. Did we expect anything but fabulous from Versace? Of course not! Are we seeing a new smoky eye trend starting in Milan? Oh yes! Have a peek at more backstage shots from Versace below.
