The recession hair trend…

default

How's a girl to deal with having a few less pennies to spend on herself than she's used to? Go blonde of course! According to A-list hair stylist Andrew Barton, whose sales of blonding products have soared by 67 per cent in recent months, we're all cheering ourselves up in these less-than-kerching times by following the old adage 'blondes have more fun'. While icons such as Marlene Dietrich and Madonna may once have been top of our blonde inspiration list, it's now Paris Hilton and her new peroxide choppy bob that's encouraging us to take the plunge. And the best news of all? New hair colour means a brand-new make-up regime... icy blondes should keep their skin cool, and pale and warmer honey highlights can up the bronze factor. Top it off with a summer-bright poppy pink lippy and voila!

But be warned: while there's not a brunette among us Grazia beauty girls, we recommend you visit a professional salon colourist before turning your locks blonde. Stringy, peroxide-burnt hair or sludgy green colours aren't going to cheer anyone up now are they...
