New make-up brand Illamasqua hit the UK (London's Selfridges since you ask) only six weeks ago and yet it's already become cult. The range is set to hit Selfridges stores around the country in 2009, Lily Allen and Courtney Love have bought bags full of Illamasqua products and we hear the fledgling brand will even be doing catwalk shows next season – though they're staying tight-lipped about any names! So we decided to head down to the shoot for Illamasqua S/S '09 ‘Summer Sirens' shoot to get the inside scoop. Artistic Director Alex Box and hairstylist James Rowe talked us through the minimalist styling (all greys, oysters, dirty whites and gold) and the star products that helped create the bronzed ethereal theme. While there, of course, we asked for some top beauty tips to see you through the party season. ‘Use a darker foundation under the cheekbone to help sculpt and give the illusion of a sunken face, not bronzer,' Alex told us. And our absolute favourite piece from the Illamasqua range? A new gold pigment cream that can be used on the eyes, lips and cheeks to give a magnificent shimmer. Watch and learn, people. Watch and learn...
