Catwalk nail guru Marian Newman did the nails for the Paul Smith show on Monday and has been working non-stop ever since. But she took ten to talk us through what she did for the Paul Smith show and why. ‘Fabulous, fabulous! A real buzz, this show. The collection is feminine and supremely wearable: light, airy and comfortable. The theme for hair, make-up and nails was "hammam chic" - like an easy and relaxed Turkish bath. Damp hair, turbans, dewy skin and... just fabulous nails! I was working with two of my favourite hair and make-up geniuses: Peter Grey and Petros Petrohilos. They are two "gentlemen" of the industry who make everyone feel good and look amazing! A lovely combination of colours for finger and toe nails; fingernails were an understated, muted-chic beige (Nails Inc. Bristol) that didn't fight with the fabrics, but then the toes - bold, overstated and opulent! The colour was a deep, viscous purple that supported the accent in the fabrics. (It was a Bourjois colour.) And it didn't stop there! The purple was the sprinkled with bold gold glitter that carried on over the feet - opulent, sparkling, chic and very expensive. How easy is that! And how fabulous!'
