Guillaume Henry of Carven outside the Didier Ludot shop

In the middle of the most expensive clothes in the world, how fab to take time out at the cocktail party given by Didier Ludot for Guillaume Henry under the plane trees in the Jardin Du Palais Royal. Guillaume, the designer at Carven, a very old and venerable French house and our new fashion passion, and Didier, the go-to man in Paris for collectable vintage fashion, have teamed up to showcase classic and contemporary Carven.

Ludot's collection of vintage pieces was styled with Henry's new collection. And a limited edition black taffeta cocktail dress is on sale foe €500...kerching!!

Guests oohed and aaahed around the tiny store not daring to touch the delicate 60 year old draped chiffon dresses and then oohed and aaahed some more as models wandered through the garden party crowd wearing Guillaume's new collection. We ate little baskets of crudités and drank champagne while a band played until the sun set.
