PHASE TWO of my insanely fashion fabulous week happened in Rome where I went to meet the Dolce & Gabbana boys and watch them shoot for a project with Monica Bellucci. Haven't had quality time with Domenico and Stefano for ages so tea with them in the garden of the Hotel de Russie was a real treat.
Stefano is in serial serious trouble with his own press office for tweeting everything he is doing, even the secret stuff. He's surrounded by press girls with their heads in their hands.
On set it was intriguing to watch Swedish director Jonas Akerlund at work. He's worryingly a ringer for a young Ossie Osbourne but he is also the uber-talented director of Madonna’s Ray of Light’ and Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ video.
He was shooting on the streets of Rome with an Italian crew. And with his black hair, hat, black nail varnish, black T-shirt and jeans and almost sleepy manner he looks like a goth who strayed onto an opera set.
The eye candy was supplied by the extras who were all classic D&G boys. I strayed backstage into this group and nearly needed a little lie down afterwards.
This week I'm at the couture in Paris. Dinner with Valentino. Backstage date with Mr Armani. I think this is what officially passes for an embarrassment of riches.
