Every week, without fail, you’ll find me out and about scouring the streets of London as Grazia’s resident Style Hunter. (Sometimes I’ll be let outside of London – Turkey is the furthest fashion destination on record). With my team of on-hand photographers ready to capture magical street style moments with me, I’m the all-seeing style-spotting eye. I pretty much live and breathe it, and I’ll get myself mowed down by traffic and incredibly embarrassed stalking the chicest ladies each week. I’ve stopped girls in toilets, interrupted serious business lunches and even hailed/grabbed chic-ettes down from their city bicycles. It’s a dangerous task, but someone’s gotta do it. I can’t go outside without giving the ol’ up-and-down stare to every girl (the general public must think I’m plain rude… or perverted). Every pair of shoes, every shop window and every hint of a great fashion-ality gets instantly processed and analysed in a Minority Report stylee (wish I had Tom Cruise’s snazzy gloves and an interactive mind-board, oh I do); but what this does mean is that it becomes second nature to notice new trends bubbling up. It also results in seeing the gradual and sad process of some fads entering into naff-dom. *Tears for the kitten heels*
But now, I have a camera! One of my very own! Yes indeediddly, I’ll be attacking even more of you stylish lot from the moment I wake up, until the moment I go to sleep. Thanks to Olympus and the nifty little XZ-1 they’ve equipped me with (it has HD video, peeps, get it for yourself here (shop.olympus.co.uk) even my well-dressed neighbours and family members should watch their backs. As well as beavering away on Fashion News at Grazia HQ, I’ve also spent over two and a half years tracking down stylish ladies on the street (that’s a lot longer than most side-walk combers, you know) and this is the Next Level. Yes, it deserves capital letters. I’ll bring you snippets of fun street style musings, shots of fellow fashion folk, cool events, parties and press days. Look out for new trends, fashion phenomena, styling tricks and even a street challenge or two. Gawd knows what could happen! Feel free to send me your ideas – where do YOU want to see Style Hunter? Or, if I’ve never bumped into you (and that’s surely a crime) then why don’t you send your own shot in to email@example.com.
So, just to get things going and in honour of the recent fashion weeks (Paris was truly inspirational when it came to fash-pack style – the sunshine took it up a notch!) here’s Style Hunter’s top fashion friends. Don’t you love how these outfits compliment each other?
Model pals Arizona Muse and Abbey Lee Kershaw stop traffic in Paris. I don’t know what I love more – Arizona’s eyebrows or Abbey’s cat-eye sunnies.
Model Elena Perminova and designer Vika Kazinskya were two of the most photographed girls in Paris. No wonder! They certainly love playing up to the cameras. The Tulieries are their catwalk.
Fashion week’s youngest, hippest girls = sisters Haya and Sama Abu Khadra. They always look so happy to be there. Love that hair!
Models Katharina Hessan & Tilda get daaaawn in NYC. DMs were everywhere this fashion week…. A comeback is on the horizon fo shizzle.
Frankie May and Tash Summerville take it back to the nineties. This feels very Saved By The Bell, don't you think?
