All I want for Christmas...

13 December 2010

The countdown to Christmas begins.  You'll no doubt be racking up cyber miles with last minute online shopping sprees and leaving hints for your BF. So this year, in honour of all you beauty addicts out there, I'm revealing my 5 must-have dream creams to make the hunt for stocking fillers that bit more bearable. Here's my pick of the best:

The Statement Cream: Guerlain Imperial Orchidee Imperial £245
The ultimate winter treat, this transforms hessian-like skin into a cashmere soft canvas. Think of it as the Burberry Prorsum of skincare. Available from www.johnlewis.com

The Cult Classic: Institut Esthederm Intensif Hyaluronic Cream £47
This doesn't look like much, but its understated apothecary vibe is a hit with the in-the-know beauty crowd. A favourite with models who stock up when in Paris, I love it because it's one of the only moisturisers that completely quenches my dehydrated skin without leaving a greasy film. Available from www.beautyexpert.co.uk

The Luxury-on-a-budget Cream: Olay Regenerist 3-Point Treatment Cream £29.99
You won't get more bang for your buck than with this baby. Packed with high levels of pentapeptides - which to you and I translates as firmer, softer. younger-looking skin - it's one of the most powerful anti-ager's for the price. Available from www.boots.com

The Miracle Healer: Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream £75
I like to think of this as my skin Genie. Infused with gentle and healing seaweed extracts and ultra-hyrdrating mimosa and rose, it's like a petal infused marine bath for tired looking skin. It's my go-to face cream whenever I feeling and looking stressed. Plus, it smells like a 5-star spa - divine. Available from www.timetospa.co.uk

The Pigmention Buster: Clinique Even Better Skin-tone Correcting Moisturiser SPF 20 £32
This is my summer saviour. Proven to fade pigmentation as well as prescription medicine, I live in this cream as soon as the sun comes out as it's amazing at brightening dull complexions, fading sun spots and protecting skin from UV. I know we're in the middle of winter but it's so good it's worth stocking up on now! Plus, it's great for darker skin tones who are prone to pigmentation. Available from www.clinique.co.uk
