It’s a rainbow (hair) coalition

katy perry blue hair

Red and yellow and pink and blue…the latest fashion must-have this micro second, isn’t pair of not a pair of J-Brand Houlihans, Mulberry Alexa bag, nor is it Chanel’s now nail polish. It’s none other than look-at-me rainbow bright hair. Yes, we’re talking peacock blue, flame red, and canary yellow.

We spotted this trend a while ago, but didn’t want to burden you another ‘out there’ trend to try until it really took off – after all when Lady Gaga works a look it’s not usually for general consumption. But then lo and behold, everyone followed suit,  making hyper-bright hair the fashion accessory du jour. From poplets Rihanna (cherry) and Katy Perry (blue) to fashionista’s like the Olsen twins (mustard) this is one beauty trend that just won’t dye die.

Ok, maybe this isn’t one for everyone, but if a flash of colour tickles your fancy, you could always dip your toe in the water by using a clip in hair piece. Hersheson’s  Blow dry Bar at Topshop sells red ‘Winges’ (a clip in fringe to you and me) as do Hothair, who specialise in pastel coloured clip-ins. Better yet, Selfridges on Oxford St. are offering Rainbow Highlights in red and white at the Cobella salon in honour of the world cup. How cool is that?

Heck, it’s cheaper than a pair of Houlihans.
