The Fash Bride: Are you Pin-Spired?

19 April 2012

Who wouldn't want to repin this dress?!

Being a bride in 2012 has its benefits.  There was the Royal Wedding last year to take inspiration from (hmmm, wonder how much it would cost to get trees in the church?), then there’s the IPad apps, and now there’s Pinterest.  Brides-to-be all over the world are logging on to the global moodboard community that is Pinterest to find inspiration, inspire others and make a virtual record of their dream wedding- and I’m one of them!  There’s a warm rush when you receive a notification that someone has ‘repinned’ your picture or following your board and when you find a bride with similar ideas to your own, you can pinch all of their amazing images too!  The best part is you can search by wedding keywords from cakes to bunting, giving you refined, focused results to create your ultimate wedding pinboards.  Check out my ‘work in progress’ pinboard-more of an overall wedding brain dump rather than sme of the professional focused boards out there but I just love all the images.  So if you’re a bride who’s stuck in a wedding ideas rut, look to Pinterest to ignite your creative bridal passion again and join thousands already pinning their hopes and dreams on a Pinterest board.

Er, is there something missing?

On another note, apparently red is the new white when it comes to saying ‘I do’.  Check out Vera Wang’s latest bridal collection for Spring 2013.  Notice something, er, out of the ordinary?  With not a bit of white in site, Vera’s collection is a little different to a traditional bridal virgin white collection.  Perhaps not designed for a church wedding… however, the collection is called ‘Mei Meng’ which means ‘Dream’ in Chinese, and with Red being associated with luck and fortune in Asia, why not make a wedding dress in a colour that is held in such high regard.  Will you be adding a red dress to your Pinterest board???
