So yesterday, once again, we saw Ms Middleton enjoying her last few days of freedom, popping out for a spot of shopping on the Kings Road - at Whistles, no less (the girl's got taste). Is it just us, or is Kate looking more and more confident style-wise - the straight-out-of-the-salon (recently tonged) hair, and the low-cut (for her) wrap dress ?
Anyway, as ever, we were quite intrigued to know about Kate's fashion purchases... and the answer might surprise you. Because Kate bought... The Kate. Yep, apparently Ms Middleton purchased the ivory silk blouse with ruffled detail (£125) that she wore for her Mario Testino-shot engagement portrait.
This purchase seems even more bizarre because the original blouse was thought to be from Kate's own wardrobe, from a previous season at Whistles. Since then, the blouse has been a huge hit for the label, prompting them to reissue the design from its archives. The style has even been renamed The Kate.
We're thinking maybe the royal-bride-to-be wanted to ensure she had the blouse as a memento of that special occasion. Which just begs the question - whatever happened to the original?
