Royal Wedding - All The News!

18 March 2011

Well, with all of last week’s drama about McQueen (something Grazia Daily is TOTALLY not over) this week has felt ever so slightly flat on the royal wedding front. LUCKILY there is still enough nonsense masquerading as news for us to digest this Friday, so fetch yourself a brew in your commemorative mug and join us on our continued journey into the ridiculous.

It has emerged that Kate Middleton isn’t the ONLY one who’s hedging her bets for her big day outfit, as Queen Elizabeth is reported to have three options on ice ready and waiting for April 29th. Two of the outfits are being designed by Angela Kelly, the Queen’s personal dresser and stylist, who has worked with HM for years. The third is being designed outside the palace (but by whom? Henry Holland? Nicola Formichetti? We wish... >sigh<).

Whilst the Queen could potentially choose either of the three for the event, a Royal aid reveals that ‘I would be amazed if she didn't wear an Angela Kelly outfit to the wedding. The Queen relies on her as she did Bobo Macdonald, her former dresser of 60 years, but Angela has much more power than Bobo ever had’. [Grazia Daily note – ‘Bobo Macdonald’ - brilliant, right?]

Also this week, Kate was spotted out and about with her future in-laws, Prince Charles and Camilla of Parker Bowles. Charles and Camilla took Kate to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Sadly, the trio just missed out on catching a performance of ‘Anna Nicole – The Opera’ and so had to make do with ‘Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland’ instead. People reports that according to ‘an excited ballet fan’ ‘it was only when the cast, which is vast, turned to their left to curtsy to them, that most of us realized she was there’. >Thrills<

However, Grazia Daily’s top piece of Royal Wedding ‘news’ this week comes courtesy of our new favourite blog, the brilliantly titled ‘Kate Middleton For The Win’. The premise is pretty simple: the blog features pics of Middleton looking – of course – radiant, alongside TOTALLY inaccurate but nevertheless terribly amuuusing slogans, a little bit like those greetings cards which were funny about ten years ago. Our personal faves from the blog are an image of Kate in a taxi, accompanied with the slogan ‘Take me to the Palace. The big one’ and a picture of Miss Middleton pointing, with the slogan ‘THAT is where we’re building the castle my ponies will live in. Check it out for yourselves by clicking ici!
