Eeek! It’s mere days until Team Grazia take on the 40k cycle challenge that is Cycletta, this Sunday, and Pedalling In Heels has to admit, we’re a bit nervous.
Y’see, despite our (almost) daily rides to Grazia Towers and a few training sessions at Fitness First’s day-glo-disco spinning class (mad, but addictive), we’re a teensy bit worried we’re not fit enough to stay the course. After all, 40km is a l-o-n-g way. And the close we get to the start line, the longer the finish line seems.
To allay our concerns, we took Fitness First trainer Eduardo aside for a pep talk. After all, he’s seen us purple-faced and sweating furiously, and he’s still convinced us we can complete his spinning class.
So, if we feel tired and are tempted to give up? ‘Stop pedalling for 30 seconds and have a quick rest while your wheels coast along,’ Eduardo says. ‘While you’re resting look around at the other girls and draw energy from them – then get straight back into it.’
