It may only be Wednesday but in London nobody cares, over the past couple of days there has been party upon party upon party. Whilst we take a sip of our Berroca and take a little nap on our desks, check out our round up of what went down…
The Tanqueray Gin Palace Launch
The Wire star Idris Elba is literally EVERYWHERE at the moment. Last night he was DJing at the launch of The Tanqueray Gin Palace. Joining him was Rosario Dawson, who fresh from promoting her new film Trance spent the evening chatting away to Olivia Grant who look adorable in a green summery dress (obviously she hadn’t seen that outside it was practically snowing). The palace - which is situated on Floral Street, Covent Garden, will be open to the public today and tomorrow, so if you like gin (who doesn’t?) get down there.
Gizzi Erskine launches Skinny Weeks and Weekend Feasts And The W Rock Tea at W London - Leicester Square
Last night we had an afternoon tea in the evening at the W London -Leicester Square, for the launch of Gizzi Erskine’s new book Skinny Weeks and Weekend Feasts. Gizzi had remixed the uber cool hotel’s menu herself adding three amazing new sweet treats to their W Rock Tea, our favourite was the Rockabilly Rebel – devil’s food cake, peanut butter mousse and peanut brittle – divine! Guests included Daisy and Pearle Lowe and Amber Atherton. After a performance by Gizzi’s favourite band and some amazing 60’s dancers, Gizzi herself got up to sing a couple of songs – a woman of many talents!
The Barry The Dog Fundraiser
Don’t let the name of this event fool you, Barry is not a dog, he is a man. Barry Karacostas is actually a dog jogger to the stars and last night he held a fundraiser at the newly opened No.3 Cromwell Road in order to raise money for his trip to the Antarctic in aid of Children’s charity The Right To Play. Joining him was his close friend Elle McPherson, apparently he and Elle meet up every morning to walk their dogs – trying to do one good deed a day. How nice is that? Also at the event were Melissa Obadash and Ollie Locke who arrived with his mother – altogether now, awwww!
The ABSOLUT Elyx Vodka Launch
We can’t think of a better place for an alcohol launch than the debauched nightspot that is The Box. At the ABSOLUT Elyx Dance of the Silk Veils – Copper Edition Launch Lady Mary Charteris and her husband Robbie Furz DJ’d whilst guests enjoyed a LOT of cocktails. Jaime Winstone rocked a dressed down lock in green converse and a beanie and was spotted having a good old chinwag with actor Russell Tovey. Over in the corner Gareth Pugh, Alistair Mackie and Marios Schwab all sat around a table together enjoying the evening. What fun!
AllSaints Biker Project: Series 1 Exhibition Preview
Given that the awful weather means we won’t be going jacket-less for some time we absolutely loved the AllSaints Biker Project Series 1 preview and we weren’t alone. Gemma Chan, Rosie Fortescue and Ben Grimes all popped in for a look at the exhibition which was being held at their Earlham Street store. Guests also got a chance to view a short film which focused on AllSaints commitment to English craftsmanship. Our favourite spot of the evening was Harry Treadaway who seemed to be trying to go incognito in a baseball cap – didn’t fool us this time Harry!
The Esquire Little Black Book Launch at Sushi Samba
The Esquire Little Black Book launch sponsored by Johnny Walker Gold Label was ALL about Millie Mackintosh and Professor Green who announced their engagement on Monday. The happy couple couldn’t move for people congratulating them from Bip Ling to Tinie Tempah their happy news was all anyone could talk of. Millie said of her rock, ‘It's a radiant setting, it's so sparkly and it's big but too big to wear every day.’ The double banded diamond ring was designed by the Pro himself and made by Frost of London, in case you want to drop some heavy handed hints / buy yourself a ridiculously extravagant present.
Rupert Sanderson – Spring Has Sprung
Spring may not have actually sprung for most of us yet but it certainly had for Rupert Sanderson and Mariella Frostrup last night as the pair held a party at his store in Mayfair. We absolutely loved looking over the new Spring Summer 2013 collection - all of the shoes are named after a different type of Daffodil. In fact, to celebrate a giant shoe was made using over 1500 individual Daf flowers – a sight not to be missed let us tell you! Olivia Cole, Jasmine Guiness and Camilla Rutherford all attended the soiree, enjoying a glass of Piper Heidsieck or two, well, why not!
