9. The Viva Forever After Party

2012 has been a great year, we had the Olympics, the Queens jubilee and we had some absolutely amazing parties. Here at Grazia we have been lucky enough to go to some amazing celebrity bashes, from rubbing shoulders (not quite literally) with Kate Moss to meeting the ACTUAL Spice Girls. Here are our top ten parties of 2012…

1. Stella McCartney Fashion Week Party

When: 18th February 2012

Where: Audley Street, Mayfair

Who: Rihanna, Zaha Hadid, Kate Moss, Twiggy, Bianca Jagger, Kanye West, Richard E Grant

This year we took our hats off to Stella McCartney who managed to pull off one of THE best fashion week parties of the year. Actual Rihanna turned up and was spotted being super-friendly with Kate Moss. Guests were given super cute London bus key-rings and there was even a magic show with Alexa Chung playing assistant. What. A. Night.

2. The Brit Awards Universal

When:  21st February 2012

Where: The Tate Modern

Who: Florence Welch, Will.I.Am, Philip Green, Chloe Green, Nicole Scherzinger

And the award for the best dancer at the Universal BRITS party goes too… Florence Welch. The FATM singer literally could not have been dragged away from the dance-floor if we tried. Chloe Green turned up with her father Phillip whilst Nicole Scherzinger sashayed in in a yellow diamante covered dress. Did we mention it was at the Tate Modern aka the coolest venue like, evah? Same again next year please.

3. The Snow White and The Huntsman after party

When: 14th May 2012

Where: The Royal Courts of Justice

Who: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Rupert Saunders, Lily Cole, Charlize Theron

Before we (or the world) found out about Kristen Stewart’s affair with married SWATH director Rupert Saunders we got to spend an evening watching her canoodle with Robert Pattinson at the film's UK premiere. A little bit awkward in retrospect. Guests were treated to a medieval banquet and champagne on tap at the resplendent Royal Courts of Justice.

4. The Tunnel of Love Fundraiser

When: Tuesday 29th May

Where: Proud Gallery, Camden

Who: Peaches Geldof, Daisy Lowe, Molly King, Jacqui Ainsley, Thomas Cohen

It was a lovely sunny summers evening when we headed off to the British Heart Foundations Tunnel of Love Fundraiser. Sipping champagne as the sun went down before we headed in to watch guests bid on the amazing auction. Jacqui Ainsley who at the time had not announced that she and Guy Ritchie were expecting their second child together told us, ‘We’ve always wanted to have a big family.’ With their baby girl welcomed in November it looks like she’s well on her way to getting her wish.

5. Selfridges Britain Creates Gala

When: Wednesday 27th June

Where: The Old Selfridges Hotel

Who: Princess Beatrice, Florence Welch, Matthew Williamson, Anya Hindenmarch, Christopher Bailey

This was a wonderful arty evening. Matthew Williamson spent the evening chatting to Florence Welch, whilst the Voice judge Danny O’Donoghue rocked up with then rumoured girlfriend Bo Bruce. Eliza Doolittle rocked up in an AMAZING pair of gold platform Louboutins, ‘I love them,’ she told us. So did we, we’ve had she envy ever since.

6. Diesel’s Future Contemporaries Party

When: 19th September 2012

Where: The Serpentine Gallery

Who: Princess Eugenie, Kelly Osbourne, Kate Moss, Harry Styles, Amber Le Bon, George Lamb

It was one of her first public appearances following the affair scandal so when Liberty Ross rocked up at the Diesel’s Future Contemporaries Party all eyes were on her. Looking absolutely fabulous in a white fur coat and sky-high black heeled boots she could not have pulled off break-up chic better if she’d tried. Kate Moss and Kelly Osbourne chatted away whilst guests tucked in the Havana Club bar.

6. Tim Walker Storyteller

When: Wednesday 17th October

Where: Somerset House

Who: Helena Bonham Carter, Kate Moss, Cara Delevinge, Tim Walker, Kristen McMenamy

With Mulberry hosting this was bound to be an amazing evening. Showcasing some of photographer Tim Walkers most beautiful pieces of work the exhibition itself was as amazing as the guests who attended. Helena Bonham Carter spent the evening trying to work out which was her favourite whilst Suki Waterhouse strutted around in a pair of amazing union jack embossed brothel creepers.

7. The Grey Goose Winter Ball in Aid of the Elton John Foundation

When: 10th November 2012

Where: Battersea Power Station

Who: Elizabeth Hurley, Emelie Sande, David Furnish, Ollie Locke, Eliza Doolittle, Tamara Eccletstone, Kevin Spacey

With a performance from one of our favourite SyCo export Labrinth The Grey Goose Winter Ball in Aid of the Elton John Foundation (yes, it is a bit of a mouthful) really brightened up what was otherwise a chilly November. Elizabeth Hurley snuggled up to her fiancé Shane Ward whilst Jay-K from Jamiroquai bid a whopping £60,000 on a Raymond Weil watch – well, it was for charity.

8. Kate Moss Book Launch Party

8. Kate Moss Book Launch Party

When: 15th November 2012

Where: 50 St.James Street

Who: Kate Moss (obvs), Jamie Hince, Noel Gallagher, Nick Grimshaw, Liberty Ross, Cara Delevingne, Pixie Geldof, Boy George, Allison Mosshart

What wasn’t good about this party? Kate Moss was resplendent in a gold McQueen dress, Jamie Hince didn’t leave her side all night. Cara Delevingne spent the evening dancing with Liberty Ross whilst Nick Grimshaw DJ’d and, once again, old Mossy proved that if anyone is still Queen of the parties, it’s her. Cara told us, ‘There’ll never be another Kate Moss.’ We totally agree.

9. The Viva Forever After Party

Where: Supernova at The Embankment Gardens

When: Tuesday 11th December

Who: The Spice Girls, Joan Collins, Meg Matthews, Nick Grimshaw

It was the moment we’d all been waiting for, The Spice Girls back together again at the launch of the Viva Forever musical. However, whilst it was all smiles on the red carpet the girls kept their distance at the after party with a Mel B, Mel C, Emma and Geri camp on one side of the room and VB and her family sat on the other. It didn’t seem to bother Vic too much though as she told us, ‘It’s been a great evening.’ We love her.
