Meet Lisa Eldridge - Your New Grazia Daily Beauty Guru!

26 February 2010

Whether it's an emergency Monday morning make-up fix or how to rock this season's scary orange It lip, we've enlisted mega make-up artist Lisa Eldridge to guide us through mascara mishaps and lipstick traumas galore! Every week you'll be able to watch Lisa's exclusive video blogs here on and steal her insider tips and tricks of the trade - we know we're excited!

Now, if you don't know Lisa then you'll definitely know her work - spot it gracing the covers of the glossiest fashion magazines and on the glowing faces of glamorous A-listers as they brave the red carpet  - think Cameron Diaz, Claire Danes, Jennifer Lopez and Keira Knightley.
Known for her fresh, flawless, and always modern make-up, Lisa is considered make-up royalty in the fashion industry and is just as likely to be spotted FROW at the shows as she backstage creating the coolest new looks! How lucky are we?

We thought you might like to get to know Lisa, and her style, a little bit better, so we called her for the low-down on her beauty views.
My make-up mantra is: 'don't expect make-up to just work for you , it's all about getting the right products and learning how to apply them.'

The best tip I've ever been told: 'Is a suntan lasts for three weeks for wrinkles last forever! Whenever I'm tempted to sunbathe I always go back this!'

My ultimate make-up must have
: 'Has to be Shu Uemura Lash Curlers - you wouldn't believe how much difference this one thing makes to my face in seconds.'

My big update for SS10 is: 'Pretty pastel shades in sheer, face flattering textures.'

I do my make-up in: ' 5 minutes for a quick daytime fix but when I go out I like to do a full on lashes and liner look which takes about 25 minutes!'

I never forget to: ' Spend time concealing, it's  the most underrated part of make up and also the part that make up artists spend the most time working on.'
Lisa’s videos will appear every Wednesday – a perfect mid-week beauty boost!

And first up is Lisa’s signature ‘Kitten Flick’ eyeliner.
We’ll let Lisa herself introduce it..

'This is one of my signature looks. I've done it hundreds of times for models and actresses for shoots and events and I occasionally wear it myself. It can be a great minimal chic look for day or work equally well as a glamorous sexy look for evenings. You can play around with the thickness of the line to create a different feel, and experiment with the colour. It takes a bit of practice to do it on yourself but it’s definitely worth the effort – it’s a great modern classic.’
