Just call him the nail genius!

Today I met with my favourite go to nail technician, David Barton in his new capacity as Maybelline’s new nail expert. Of course, we chatted extensively about how excited we were for all the new A/W nail trends and shades, so he showed me one of his new tricks for next season with some of Maybelline’s new and existing shades.  His top tip?  Work the ‘Loval’, ie: long, oval and black. Just take a dark polish like Maybelline’s Express Finish lacquer (which amazingly dries in 40 seconds) and paint one coat as a base and finish with a top coat of another colour, preferably a more sheer, shimmer metallic shade like Maybelline’s Forever Strong in Atomic Violine.  The black base gives the metallic coat a deeper more intense colour whereas if it was worn alone, it would look like a completely different polish so you’re getting two looks in one. Bonus!
