From nails galore to a lipstick wardrobe...

25 June 2010

Another day in Paris, this time we're hanging out at the Dior HQ where we're getting a sneaky peak at the new collection of Rouge Dior lipsticks, launching in September, marking the 60th anniversary of Dior beauty. Tyen (and sidekick - his gorgeous long haired Chawawa) has been creative director for Dior beauty for 30 years and, as you'd expect with any new collection - in particular lipsticks - Tyen gets excited!

This new range is inspired by the couture Christian Dior dresses which we were lucky enough to view in the evening with Monica Bellucci opening up the one night only exhibition and with each dress, the lipstick it inspired was proudly displayed next to it.

We were also treated to some archive lipstick pieces which dated back to 1953. We were amazed to see a 'lipstick wardrobe', which would sit prettily on the dressing table and had a special holder for the handbag too - but the clever part was that all the lipstick shades were interchangeable for the holders and adaptable for the outfit, hence the name lipstick wardrobe!

But back to present day, the new Rouge Dior collection has been split into three families: beige to brown (morning), pink to purple (afternoon) and coral to red (evening) and of course it's the red in the collection that means so much to the house of Dior. As Mr Dior said himself, 'I adore red, it is the colour of life'.
