Nicola Adams Does the Muhammed Ali Shuffle And Dani King Puts On Her Face For A Night Out With Naomi Campbell

Boxer Nicola Adams who won gold last night

By Sky Sports News Journalists Orla Chennaoui and Lia Hervey

It feels like every morning we wake up to what was the Best Olympics Night Ever, but last night was definitely up there. And what a night for women! Anyone who saw Nicola Adams win gold in the boxing was as moved and thrilled as we were. We were fortunate enough to get a little visit from Nicola today. She's made history by becoming the first British woman to win a boxing medal and it was no mean feat. Women had to fight for the right to compete professionally and boxing was only added as an Olympic sport for the first time at these Games. In good spirits she did us Muhammed Ali shuffle for us this morning. It's hard to believe this smiley pint-sized princess, who charmed all of us, could pack such a punch that gained her the gold gong.

Cyclist Dani King out on the town

Early starts and heavy training is behind the athletes for a few days at least and now they're discovering the benefits of having a gold medal around their necks – not to mention the fun that goes with it. Last night gold medallist track cyclist Dani King was invited to a party with supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. She called us pleading for some hair and makeup at our TV studios. Luckily makeup ladies obliged and she left looking incredibly glam.

BMX star Shanaze Reade

Back to today though, a big day for another female athlete, Shanaze Reade, the BMX cyclist whose dreams were crushed at Beijing four years ago. This time she will be trying to make sure nothing is left to chance. Shanaze spends hours choosing every single part of the bike and making sure the goggles go with the helmet, the helmet matches with the wheels, she picks everything, even down to designing her Olympic frame. She almost never has the same kit at each race either. Shanaze is all about looking good and performing even better.

Tom Daley in a final bid for a medal

And tonight there's another chance for Tom Daley to try and get through in the individual 10m. If you can't wait until tonight to see him I highly recommend looking up on the internet, the video of Tom and his diving teammates dancing to "I'm Sexy And I Know It". It will be the best viewing all day!
