Bradley Wiggins celebrates his gold. On a throne, obvs
By Sky Sports News Journalists Orla Chennaoui and Lia Hervey
Day six of the Olympics and things are DEFINITELY heating up, after Team GB triumphed with two Gold medals.
Rowers Helen Glover and Heather Stanning were first on the winner’s podium after taking Gold this morning.
And Bradley Wiggins continued the winning streak this afternoon, by racing to victory in the time trials and into the history books, as he became Britain’s most successful Olympian with seven medals, four of them gold. It wasn’t a great start for Wiggo though… when he popped to a spa before the race, someone stole his kit. Hmmmmmn.
Luckily for him, organisers had a spare red, white and blue Stella McCartney kit… and jumping on his bike, he went on to win Gold. Go Wiggo!
We were lucky enough to be with the Team Sky guys in Paris last week as they were treated to a champagne reception at the Ritz after the Tour de France (we know, there are downsides to this job), and Wiggins was lamenting the fact he couldn't drink as much as he'd like because of the Olympic task ahead. There'll be nothing to stop him and wife Cath tonight, and boy does he deserve it.
Don't miss tonight: Team GB's Andy Willis and Michael Jamieson
Elsewhere, the glamour girl of British swimming Fran Halsall got through to tonight’s 100m freestyle final alongside British teammate Amy Smith but they need to beat the 16-year-old Chinese swimming sensation Yi Tang.
The must watch event tonight though is the men’s 200m breaststroke final. Team GB stars Michael Jamieson and Andrew Willis are both medal contenders. And who said we were having a medal drought?
Ryan Lochte. Hot, even with his Stars & Stripes mouth grille
Talking of male stars of these Games, there's been a lot of Lochte loving going around of late. We met his lovely mum yesterday and she was a tad bemused by all the attention. She said she preferred it when they were able to fly under the radar. Sorry Mummy Lochte, now his chiselled six pack and twinkly grin have come to international attention, there's not much chance of that…
