Sienna Miller is well and truly back on our style radar. The actress is not only the new face of Burberry - alongside her hubby-to-be Tom Sturridge - but she reigniting our admiration of her festival style when she popped up at Glastonbury last weekend.
The style star's latest Glasto ensembles have got us remembering those heady boho days when Sienna gave Kate Moss a run for her Queen of the Festival Fashion scene money. lt was the supermodel who created such iconic festival gear as studded belts, the Hunter wellies pandemic, the Kaftan tunic, the moccassin boot hysteria and, most significantly, the adoption of sequinned vintage eveningwear as festival-appropriate (first seen at the lsle of Wight in 2006 when Mossy took to the stage with Primal Scream wearing a black velvet sequinned vintage cape).
But by 2004, Mossy was facing stiff Festival Fashion competition from Sienna. She was the new actress enthralling the movie world, as well as Jude Law, and thanks to a hippy-dippy wardrobe, she became the icon of boho chic. Her festival staples included embellished boots, hipster hats and colour-popping sunglasses. Who could forget those lime green sunnies and the black boho minidress, par exemple? Exactly.
Poppy Delevingne and Sienna Miller arrive at Glasto in style
Fast forward to 2013 and Sienna, who gave birth to daughter Marlowe in July last year, was back to her festival best thanks to a floaty Topshop dress teamed with a Anya Hindmarch Bathurst bag. The following day, we saw her rocking a pair of ASH studded biker boots, carrying Alexander McQueen's Mini Heroine bag and sporting a trademark floppy hat while squelching through the mud with her pal Poppy Delevingne. But this time, she had a brand new accessory: Tom Sturridge. With his impressive beard and no-fuss (read: scruffy) outfits, he was the final cherry a-top Sienna's festival fashion masterclass.
So, dear readers, this week's Flashback Friday is dedicated to the best of Sienna's festival wardrobe through the years, from sloshing through the rain at the Isle of Wight to living it up in sunny California at Coachella back in 2008. Ms Miller, we salute you.
