You, The Fashion Jury: Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen

We love Taylor's rock chick day looks but for the red carpet she seems to dress too old for her age and then ends up compensating with ill suited accessories mmmm... maybe the evening wear stylist should be given a re-think Taylor? But what do YOU think of Taylor’s look? Post your verdict below and the best comments may get printed in next week’s magazine!

  • Beuatiful nude tone dress shows off great skin tone and the split empasises her long legs but the shoes kill this.... horribly ageing and severe.

  • I love Taylor's make up and bag. The dress is fine, hardly cutting edge but it suits her.

  • I never thought I'd say this about anybody, but she should ask some of the Disney Channel girls for some red carpet tips, at least they can show her how to dress her age.

  • Chop the dress off above the knee and the hair off above the shoulder and we're getting there.
    Loftypops
  • The dress and accessoried are fine...on anyone else. It's a bit last-minute Angelina, but what really ruins all her "looks" is that constant misunderstood-suffering-artist face she pulls.

  • This dress could've been too grown-up but Taylor keeps it youthful with the fishnets, rock-chick eyes and sexy-as hair!

  • She could wear any dress she wanted but with roots like that its always going to look cheap. The dress and shoes are very demure. Then everthing else looks really tacky.

  • Where's the red carpet? What's that dirty patch of asphalt she's standing on? Hmm, she looks a bit like the "Corpse Bride" to me. Overdone eye make-up, ragged hair, dishwater colour dress etc. There should be a hole in those fishnets to complete the look...naff shoes too.

  • Ooohh no I disagree, I really like this. Maybe its the past-goth in me (OK, OK I admit it!) or maybe it's the fact that I spend my life fighting my own roots but whatever it is I think she looks fabulous.

  • wow - grown up al of a sudden. I love the colour but think it would suit a darker complexion.

  • this outfit just doesn't seem edgy enough or young enough for taylor. she needs something shorter and sassier, she is meant to be a rock chick...
    minkybaby
  • Belt and shoes are stunning, The fishnets edge that dress up. i love that taylor's rock chick look is taken right accross the board, even when she is on the red carpet, she never seems to compromise her style.

  • The best accessory for this outfit would be a smile. Everything else hits the mark.
    batwench
  • The nude tones definitely suit her but her eye makeup is too dark compared to her pale lip gloss. The long dress adds years to her age which makes her look mature but paired with those shoes makes it look last-minute. If she had a pair of nude peep-toes on she could possibly pull the look off. :)
    brunettebimbo
  • It's a very classy dress, but it looks modern and edgy with the make up and hair.
    Valentine123
  • If I had to sum this look up in to a design word. The whole look is like "Desert war Queen" there it is perfect.

  • this looks fab! but too grown up for her, and a little hard to take her seriously in this when I have her rock-chic look in the back of my head.
    Maida
  • vampires def. do just come out at night, taylor looks as though the life-blood has been sucked out of her! She works the pale and interesting look very well. I love the dress on her its demure with an edge of heroin chic!
    OliviaB
  • I really like this look, the leg showing makes it look more sexy and i love her hair, however i think it's all too pale for her, maybe she should of put in a striking coloured purse or accessory.
    EmEmEmma
  • I agree with batwench - crack a smile love!! love the dress with the fishnets though...
    sarahos
  • Taylor manages to balance beautifuly the rock style attitude with the "grown up" dress. Altough she could have done better by wearing shoes with more statement!

  • If you're gonna wear a grown up dress, WEAR IT LIKE AN ADULT..The whole goth, rock chick could have been done more subtly and she would have carried it off fine, and also peep toe next time chick..
    GW99
  • this dress makes her look like she's just raided the Gossip Girl wardrobe for something to wear and ended up picking something from Lily's section instead of Little J's. The colour makes her look washed out and the vampy make-up ruins the look of the dress. Great clutch though

  • She is clearly looking to be the latest pin-up for computer nerds everywhere. She does look hot. There are a million ways I could suggest she go about looking less ill (the right foundation? a smile?) but there's no point lecturing a teenager in the midst of her rebellion.
    zoealice
  • I like the dress, but the accesories let it down! the shoes are hideous and why does Taylor always look like a sullen teenager being forced to go to Grandma's party?
    dree631
  • She's in the land of limbo most of us find ourselves in at the age of fifteen, and the result is typically not quite right. The nude shade of the dress is lovely against her skin tone but the length is terrible and the fishnets and shoes are utterly out of place. I would love to see Taylor rocking a new hairstyle as well - ditch the bleach! Give it a few years and she will have found her fashion feet.

  • The dress suits her, now she just needs to sort out her roots and that awful eyeliner and it might be a good outfit. Love the shoes.
    SHS1X
  • not liking this at all, she looks like she's attempting (and failing) to copy the look of the Olsen twins: too old and far too severe, she should be going for young, fun looks.
    Laurpil
  • The oyster-coloured dress definitely has an edge, with the split and glass-bead belt, very distressed water-nixie, bleached Gothic princess vibe...but what's with the Olsen-inspired Satanic eyeliner?
    silverstar
  • I think she looks good!
    Gezi
  • The dress is beutiful and I love her rock chick hair and make-up, but'your never fully dressed without a smile'.

  • I love the fact she went all fierce and punky with the peroxide and khol! She rocks this gown which I think is no mean feat given the hair and makeup. Perfect fit and cut and she gives it some attitude with the khol eyes and deep red nails. The only thing I'm not liking is how those cloven hoofs are not only spoiling the line of her legs but the fabulous dress. Maybe I'm old school but I see not wrong in some deep blood red almond toe patent or even in the nude or some gold woven sandals. She definitely achieved the "what is the objective? To shock and awe". Credit though, I was never this polished at her age!

  • Momsen can do no wrong (except those stunning 'I work the corner of 56th and madison' fishnets) looking every inch a hollywood star, when I was her age the best I could come up with was dungarees and Gap fleeces, true style
    EmaLeigh
  • Erm...erm...erm...i really have no idea where to start. First of all i would never slate this girl unless i had to, but OMG she looks terrible! The dress is gorgeous, but makes her look incredibly washed out, the fishnets are dire, the shoes are utterly disgusting and the clutch just does not go. The only thing that i am liking is the thick smattering of Kohl around her peepers. Stick to the rock chick vibe, girl!
