It’s only taken eleven years, two kids, three houses and a cross globe move to Australia and back for my boyfriend to get around to asking me to marry him (what can I say, he likes to be sure about something before he commits, typical Capricorn) … but last month he finally buckled.
In the excitement of it all we – somewhat rashly I admit - decided that a long engagement after all these years, would be a little unseemly and that December would be a good time for the wedding. The prospect of spending the day mostly candle lit (SO much more flattering, especially for a bride who’s not – ahem –in the first bloom of youth), is what swung it for me.

Anyway, that was all a month ago, and due to being out of action over the last few weeks covering the shows in London, Milan and Paris, I still haven’t managed to book a venue for the reception, or more importantly, even tried on one dress. Stressed? Just a little!
As luck would have it, white is a major trend for S/S 11, so I have had the opportunity to check out some pretty spectacular dresses… romantic and lacy at Dolce & Gabbana, rich hippy inspired at Alberta Ferretti, minimal chic at Calvin Klein… decisions decisions…
