Fans of Viktor and Rolf are familiar with the Art-Installation style catwalk shows, the sight of Tilda Swinton in their designs and their museum-worthy showpieces. They’re not necessarily the first designers you’d think of when it comes to the often gooey, airy fairy world of bridal collections and snowy white gowns.
But, they’ve turned their hand to the wedding market this resort season, with ‘a capsule of modern-day bridal highlighting the offering with light, fresh and non-traditional styles in a variety of lengths and silhouettes.’ And, if you ask us, the results are beautiful.
Very light of touch, and yet perfectly sweet and feminine – not scary at all! A spokesperson for the brand explained that; ‘weddingwear has been a fascination for Viktor & Rolf for a long time, with a white wedding show for spring, where a white shirt transformed into a parade of wedding dresses.’ Ah. Romantics are all over the place, if you know where to look it seems.
Highlights of the capsule collection include; a long stretch crepe dress with bow-back detailing in crepe, satin, transparent chiffon with a pleated insert – that we absolutely ADORE – the back being so important in the church, n’est-ce pas?
Oh and a tailored white jumpsuit that we find to be absolute perfection. *sighs*
