We now know the name of Zooey Deschanel's baby girl... Her daughter with husband Jacob Pechenik is named Elsie Otter. Traditional and kooky in exactly the measure we'd expect from the New Girl star.
Zooey shared the news at the premiere of her new film, Rock the Kasbah this week, which she attened with Jacob, who she married secretly around the same time as Elsie was born in late July.
It seems like there's a trend for 'E' monikers in the celebrity world right now, what with Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford revealing their newborn daughter is named Evelyn, and Keira Knightley and James Righton calling their baby girl Evie earlier this year.

It's a double whammy of good news for Zooey Deschanel, who has given birth to a baby girl AND got married to her producer partner Jacob Pechenik.
A rep for the couple confirmed to Page Six that the star had welcomed a healthy baby girl, and the new arrival was born in Austin, Texas in late July, where Jacob is based. They also got married in a secret wedding ceremony. Details of the pair's nuptials are yet to be revealed, as is the baby's name.
Zooey revealed she was engaged and expecting back in January, saying: “Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one". Jacob and Zooey have been dating since August 2014.
