Hill was born in Palatine, Illinois and raised in Arvada, Colorado with three siblings. As a child she trained as a gymnast, as well enjoying typical Colaradan pastimes such as snowboarding and horse-riding. She graduated from Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado when she was 16-years-old.
In an interview with The Sunday Times Style Taylor described herself as 'painfully shy' growing up. 'When you're shy, you don't have a lot of friends,' she said. 'That's how it is.'
To aid her shyness IMG sent her to improv classes, which - along with coming of age in the world of high fashion - she considers responsible for developing her confidence.

In 2011, when she was 14-years-old, Taylor was scouted in a horse ranch during a riding lesson in her hometown of Granby, Colorado, by Jim Jordan - an agent and photographer. She was quickly signed to IMG Models and was being flown to Europe for modelling jobs before the age of 15.
Soon she was beginning to be picked up by big names: in 2013 she was featured in Intimissimi's catalog and was in print campaigns for Forever 21. Also that year she had her catwalk debut, walking for Ralph Lauren and Roksanda Illincic.
Since then she has walked for the likes of Kenzo, Valentino, Emporio Armani, DKNY, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Elie Saab, Karl Lagerfeld, and more.
She has appeared in advertising campaigns for Versus, Miu Miu, Michael Kors, Armani Privé, Jimmy Choo, and many more, and has also represented retail giants such as H&M and Topshop. In 2016, she became the face of Topshop's autumn collection, meaning she was practically ubiquitous.
She has appeared in editorials for American, French, Spanish, Norwegian, and Mexican Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, French, Dutch, and Australian Elle, W, Madame Figaro, Dazed, LOVE, Russian Número, Glamour and Italian Marie Claire.
Taylor Hill For Victoria's Secret
Taylor first walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2014, and in 2015 she was awarded her Victoria's Secret Angel Wings.
She reportedly earned $1.5 million for her duties as a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2015.
When asked what the biggest misconception people make about Victoria's Secret models, Taylor took the opportunity refute the assumption that VS models don't eat. 'I eat 3,000 calories a day before the VS show,' she said. 'Three thousand! There's no way you can look like that and don't eat. You would die. Victoria's Secret girls are like athletes. We're like Olympians. We're strong.'
