Brandon Maxwell - the man responsible for revamping Lady Gaga's look over the past year and designing several of the Art Pop singer's strongest recent looks is taking his next step by launching his own ready-to-wear collection. He'll present the first installment at New York Fashion Week in September.
Brandon started out working with Gaga as assistant to her former stylist Nicola Formichetti, before taking over the role in 2013 - continuing to change up her style from out-there to elegant. He's appeared on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter with her, after being named as one of the mag's 25 Most Influential Stylists, and it seems she's largely responsible for giving him the push he needed to venture into the world of catwalk.
He recalls her singing his praises for the first custom design he made her - an elegant cobalt-blue gown with assymetric shoulder and thigh-high slit: "she wore this on my birthday when I turned 30, and she wore this for the day her [Tony Bennet] album came out. I would always sketch dresses for her, for designers, and she said, 'Why don't you just do it yourself?' And I made her the dress and she wore it."

And of his new design venture he said in a statment: “I'm so excited to be fulfilling a lifelong dream of design, making clothes inspired by all of the powerful women in my life."
Brandon will continue to style Gaga while working on his new collection, so we can be confident a cameo from the lady herself will be on the cards for his first show.
