Johnny Depp's newest screen appearance has landed - and no, it's not directed by Tim Burton. In a thrilling short directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Johnny undergoes a metamorphosis from frustrated rockstar to lone ranger - all with the help of Dior's new Sauvage fragrance, of course.

It's all the more exciting as Johnny's never done something of this ilk before - in fact, this is his first fragrance campaign. Perhaps he was inspired by his daughter Lily-Rose's partnership with Chanel? Either way, we're loving it. Our teenage crush is NOT over.

Who's the new face of Dior perfumes? Is it a young, hip ‘It’ girl like Cara Delevingne? Or maybe one of the Kardashian-Jenner clan? No, it's none other Hollywood veteran and the first crush of at least half the world’s population, Johnny Depp.

In a short statement, Dior this morning announced the partnership, which just so happens to be Johnny's first ever fragrance campaign. Not that we imagine he was short of offers - a leading man and international style icon since the 1980's there have probably been brands positively queuing up to get a dose of the JD. The new move does, however, mark something of a come-back, because since having children and marrying Amber Heard earlier this year, Johnny has been more elusive than ever, rarely giving interviews and appearing in very select films.

The news comes just as Lily-Rose Depp's, Johnny’s daughter with ex-partner Vanessa Paradis, own star-status is quickly rising. After her debut on the Chanel Metiers d'Art show red carpet in May, Lily's quietly amassed a whopping Instagram following (currently over 400k), has been featured in a spread for Oyster magazine, and bagged a role in upcoming film, 'Planetarium', opposite Natalie Portman.

As for the fragrance that Johnny will front, all information is yet-to-be-released, but we do know that it has been created by expert perfumer and Dior’s ‘nose’ François Demachy, who has worked on many of their best-selling fragrances to date. Watch this space people, watch this space.
