It premiered at Cannes Film Festival last weekend to critical acclaim and now a second trailer for AMY, a documentary about Amy Winehouse, has been released.

The moving footage, put together by BAFTA-winning director Asif Kapaida, shows Amy before she found global fame, a girl with a true passion for music and a girl who, as one friend described, ‘just wanted to be loved’.

In a series of clips Amy is seen discussing the possibility of fame in the early years of her career and it’s clear she has no idea how big her profile would become.

Discussing fame she says: ‘The thing is I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous,’ and in another shot she says: ‘I’m not trying to be a star, I’m just a girl who sings. '

Amy tragically passed away four years ago at the age of just 27 following a battle with drink and drug addiction.

As well as showing her rise to fame, the film also documents her struggles with life in the limelight.

As one friend comments: 'This is someone who tried to disappear.'

The film also looks at Amy's failed relationship and in one clip she's seen posing with her former husband Blake Fielder-Civil and in a voice over she says: ‘I fell in love with someone who I would have died for and that’s like a real drug.’

Earlier this year an Executive at Universal David Joseph, said: [it's] "a very complicated and tender movie. It tackles lots of things about family and media, fame, addiction, but most importantly, it captures the very heart of what she was about, which is an amazing person and a true musical genius."
