When you land on Iceland you might think you have arrived on the moon. Don't be fooled you are still on planet earth but the food and drinks are truly out of this world.
Only 3 hours away by plane and with easyjet flying directly to Reykjavik regularly, Iceland is a breeze to get to. The dramatic landscape of volcanoes and glaciers is breathtaking and with some of the coolest bars in the world, Icelanders really are the trailblazers of the foodie world. What's more with the Krone crash of 2008, Iceland has become one of the most affordable Scandinavian countries around.
If you do manage to make the quick trip across, the best restaurant that we have found has to be Sushi Samba, Reykjavik. Located in the Thingholt area of downtown Reykjavik, is a hipster hotspot offering an exclusive fusion of Japanese and South American food with an Icelandic twist. Menu highlights include Smoked Puffin with blueberries, Lobster Cigars and Reindeer Sliders.
If you have a thirst needing to be quenched we would suggest you head down to Slipbarrin, Reykjavik. Located in the Iceland Air Hotel with views over the harbour. This is the coolest hotel hangout in the city. Crazy cocktails even include the Judas Hobo which contains Vodka, Strawberries, Basil, Mint and Lime all mixed with a industrial drill!
