At the last Rolling Stones gig in San Diego, Sir Mick Jagger took the opportunity to honour his deceased girlfriend L’Wren Scott. During the encore of his set ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, the 71-year-old was wearing a red feather cape inspired by one she had designed for him to wear on an earlier tour.

Accomplished designer L’Wren and Mick met back in 2001 at a photoshooting and were sharing apartments in Paris and London until her death. In March 2014, she committed suicide in her NYC apartment.

After her death, Sir Mick Jagger wrote on his website: ‘I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.’

Just a last month, he tweeted ‘Remembering L'Wren on her birthday Photo by Jean Pigozzi (sic).’, along with a photo on, what would have been, her 50th birthday.

According to a source of the Daily Mirror, wearing one of her creations on stage was an additional tribute: ‘This was Mick's way of showing that L'Wren lives on - it was one of her favourite pieces that she had designed for him so he wears it on this tour as a special tribute to her’.
