Good news, everybody: there’s gonna be more emojis next year! It’s been announced by Unicode, the company behind emojis, that they will release 38 brand new additions including bacon, a drooling face and a prince.
Soon, expressing yourself without typing any actual words will be even easier, especially with many emojis added for social context. For example, there are right and left facing fists, so you can give each other virtual fist bumps. And not to forget: a Selfie emoji, clinking glasses and a 'Call me' icon.
Also very popular on the emoji front are different foods: the newest additions include bacon, avocado and croissants. Categorized under ‘rather strange but good to have’ are Mother Christmas, a black heart and a clown face.
Previously, Unicode diversified emojis, giving the option to choose between several skintones. The new additions are said to appear on our phone screens in June 2016.
