When it comes to campaigns, Marc Jacobs likes to make a statement with his casting. Five words - Victoria Beckham in shopping bag. His Autumn Winter 2015 campaign has just landed and it stars the one and only.... Cher.

This morning Katie Grand, the creative director of Marc's campaigns, confirmed the news when she Instagrammed a picture of Cher's MJ ad, photographed by David Simms.

In the image the 69-year-old wild-haired singer wears a dramatic black pleated skirt and leather gloves as she is sitting around and waiting on a metal chair (you didn't think we'd write a Cher story without slipping in one Cher lyric, did you?).

Cher accompanied Marc to the MET Gala back in May, making us suspect she was Marc's new muse. Plus his final collection for Louis Vuitton referenced iconic Cher looks, including the feathered headdress and crop top she wore to the Oscars in 1986.

Cher is certainly having a fashion 'moment' - Kim Kardashian revealed that her Met Gala gown by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli was inspired by her Bob Mackie creation she wore to the same event in 1974.

We knew Kendall and Cara would sweep up campaigns for 2015, but the unexpected casting trend last season was campaigns celebrating the mature icon. It wasn't just about your Kendalls and your Gigis - Celine had Joan Didion; Saint Laurent had Joni Mitchell; Givenchy had Julia Roberts.

Judging by Marc n' Cher, it looks like campaigns for Autumn will continue to Turn Back Time.
