Looks Like Our Daily Pret Habit Is About To Get Worse…

It’s finally happened: not satisfied with luring us in morning and noon with their handily sized morning ‘protein pots’ and moreish meatball wraps, infuriatingly convenient cafe Pret-A-Manger has today announced it wants us to dine with them by night. In other words, as of now, we live in Pret.

Today the chain, which lurks opportunistically on 99 per cent of UK streets, announced the launch of ‘Good Evenings’, a trial concept which they hope will see Pret addicts spend the remaining third of their wages not currently exhausted on coffee trips, ‘Yoga Bunny’ drinks and brownies, on their evening meal. The first store to trial Good Evenings will be the London Strand branch, who will open until 11pm and serve beer, so help us God.

Of course we’re not planning on dining there – and we can’t guarantee we wouldn’t be judgy about others inviting us for ‘Pret dinners’, either. But, as is with every other day when we resolve to give up Pretfast and Lunch-A-Manger, we just know the habit is only likely to get worse. See you there…
