The latest step in the return of John Galliano? A fashion talk at a London synagogue.

Yes, the flamboyant designer - who was fired from Dior in 2011 for making anti-Semitic slurs outside a Parisian café - is hoping to mend relations with the Jewish community by speaking at Connect, a series of fashion-related events for the Jewish community.

Galliano, 54, will be the key note speaker at the first Connect event on 28th May, which will see him take part in a discussion with Rabbi Sam Taylor from the Western Marble Arch synagogue and Maureen Kendler from the London School of Jewish Studies.

The talks will consist of "conversations combining culture and community", according to the Central Synagogue London website.

The designer was first introduced to Rabbi Sam Taylor by Condé Nast International's chairman and chief executive, Jonathan Newhouse, following his unceremonious exit from the brand.

Galliano has since made his return to fashion after being announced as the new creative director of Maison Margiela in January this year. Hisdebut collection for the fashion house coincided with the label - formerly known Maison Martin Margiela - dropping the middle moniker of its eponymous founder from its title in order to reflect "the evolution of the house".

So will this latest move ensure Galliano's fashion comeback is on track? Watch this space...
