A publicist for Jon Hamm has revealed that the Mad Man actor has recently completed treatment for alcoholism.

He reportedly checked himself into high-end rehab facility Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut for 30 days at the end of February. His rep released the following statement.

‘With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward.’

Jon is currently on the publicity trail for the final season of the US drama. In 2012 he compared himself to his hard-drinking character, telling the Daily Mail: ‘I don't drink as much as Don Draper. I would be unconscious if I did.’

He’s previously admitted to having struggled with drink problems after the death of his father in 1991, telling GQ magazine last year that: ‘It just changed everything. It was just a profound sense of being alone. And that lasted a while.I was in college, and I had to start over again. I started drinking; it was a rough time. I was at a crossroads. It really could have gone the wrong way.’
