With hundreds of new lipsticks launching every year it can be tricky to decipher the so-sos from the game changers. Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains are of the latter variety; combining the conditioning benefits of a balm with the colour pay off of a lipstick, which lasts well past your lunch break and leaves the prettiest, subtle stain on your lips. Think of them as the complete opposite of that sticky gloss you proudly slicked on your lips as a teen, only for your hair to stick to it like superglue at the first opportunity.

Another plus point - they’re really versatile; with eight shades from the most universally flattering nude (Milan Moment) to a punchy bright coral (Miami Fever) and a bold fuchsia (Rio Rush). Wear alone or amp up the colours and layer two together – they’re still light enough so won’t feel sticky.

Alternatively, use them as a cheek stain for a dewy flush of colour – a trick that Revlon’s make-up maestro, Gucci Westman used backstage at the Spring Summer 15 shows. Apply straight from the wand onto the back of your hand and then use your fingertips to lightly pat the colour over the apples of your cheeks.

Trust us, your make-up bag will be all the better off with one… or eight.
