Prabal Gurung’s latest collaboration with nail brand Sally Hanson was revealed backstage yesterday by NYC manicurist Jin Soon to rapturous applause from models and editors alike. The chic slate ‘Concrete Jungle’ was chosen for the show, while some model nails were topped with an extra stripe of the navy ‘Midnight Affair.’ Out in autumn, we’ll be bagging the lot.
A Not-So Romantic Valentine
Session stylist Orlando Pita spent his Valentine's night cutting out these beauties from sheet leather for the Derek Lam show – ‘They’re exact copies of those that my female classmates wore in the 70s,’ he told us. And aren’t they just lovely?
Try VB’s Burgundy Eye
‘This season’s Victoria Beckham girl is a little more seductive,’ explained international face painter Pat McGrath in a jam-packed backstage area in the Financial District yesterday. ‘We went for a disheveled sweep of black eyeliner with a dab of burgundy in the middle of the lower lash line. Victoria loved the decadence of this addition – 'These girls look like they have been partying all night.'
Beautiful Buns
Forget ballet buns and tighter-than-tight topknots, because according to hair hero Orlando Pita, next season's bun comes low-slung and imperfect in form.
