The brilliant and fondly awaited Jackie Lee always appears early in the schedule and what a brilliant start to the week she is too.
This season's offerings were no exception and last season's soft, silky but sporty silhouettes in navy and icy pastels, translated effortlessly and lux-ly to an autumnal palette. Jackie Lee is known for her minimalist shapes, flowing lines and tomboyish touches, Jackie took the opportunity to look backwards to her childhood in Korea, referencing the clothes her mother used to make her and her four siblings - whilst you'd likely expect a range of colour pops and cartoon colours, in true J JS Lee style, its a VERY civilised affair.
It's all about the 'shadow of the greys', Jackie told us backstage after the show. The past, it would seem, is teeming with shadows and ghosts - all chicly dressed of course - here are five of our favourite things…
1. Swampy Knit Dresses
The oversized rib knit dress with overly long sleeves and super high-neck brings cherished dress-up days to mind.
2. Elastic String Ruching
An amplified homage to her mother's stitching, this detail was everywhere, across chests and along hems but most notably serving as a sort of paper-bag waist for skirts and trousers.
3. The Coats
Jackie's signature item - the overcoat - opened the show. This sleek grey waisted number was divine.
4. Mongolian Lambswool Details
Another reference to the Korean winters of Jackie's childhood, colourful mongolian wool collars and cuffs (as well as entire dresses made of the stuff) peppered a very neutral palette - inspired by the cute fuzzy ear muffs she wore as a child.
5. 50 Shades of Grey
Grey, grey, grey and more grey in multiple shades of the soft, sporty colour got us in the mood for head-to-toe tonal dressing.
